The Hawaii Department of Motor Vehicles supplies information for you to be prepared when registering your vehicle in Hawaii. There are a lot of small details to be aware of on how to register a new vehicle, change the ownership of a vehicle, and car renewal information.

Here are a few things that you should prepare before going to the DMV:
  • Collect all DMV materials that have been mailed to your home and complete the next step
  • If your state requires a smog check then make sure to locate a smog check location in your area to have the required tests completed
  • If your car does not pass the smog check then locate a smog repair locations in your area to have the work required to fix your automobile
  • Upon passing a smog check mail your payment, proof of passing your smog check and registration card to your local Hawaii DMV.
